Cosimo Team & Collaborators

Maia Adar

Founder & Chief Researcher

With a professional background as a mathematician and data scientist, Maia brings a deep understanding of experimental methods and data interpretation. Over time, she has transitioned into focusing on independent research, conducting novel experiments on unconventional topics such as how clothing impacts catcalling rates, validating biohacking techniques, unexpected properties of recreational beverages, and the pheromone-like effects of vabbing. She founded Cosimo as a way to help people actively expand scientific progress on their questions, driven by a belief in the intrinsic value of curiosity.

Ana Kilgore

Scientific Research Assistant

Ana supports the team with in-depth scientific literature reviews and evidence-based recommendations, leveraging her expertise as a biologist. While completing her master’s in large-scale ecology at the University of Puerto Rico, she performed research on landslides and hyperspectral imaging. A creative and unconventional thinker, Ana also channels her inventive talents into scientific writing for It’s Freezing in LA magazine and through her map-making practice.

Lisa Wills

Science Media Producer

Lisa brings Cosimo’s research to life through engaging media, producing films that tell the story of our experiments. She is a writer-producer and founder of Knicname Films.

Ore Ogundipe

Study App Development

Ore develops mobile applications which support Cosimo’s experiments, combining technical expertise with a passion for decentralized science. He has previously worked at Microsoft, expressPay, and Ghana.GOV (Ghana's official digital services and payment platform). He is the founder of NeuroFusion, a platform designed for conducting remote experiments.

Marcus Levine

Philosopher of Science

With degrees in both astrophysics and philosophy, Marcus develops new frameworks for evaluating scientific adequacy across diverse contexts.

Gabrielle Napoli

Impact and Data Advisor

Gabrielle advises on data-driven strategies to support innovative approaches to science. With a master’s degree in public health from Columbia University and overseeing impact for The Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation, she combines analytical rigor with a talent for focusing on practical outcomes.
